hi @AndyS I had it now for the 2nd time that this happened to me. Once is chance, twice may be something to investigate Take look at this screen shot: [image: 8cbbd6ed-b7d9-4e0f-9d58-1d4fe4af92ee.PNG] It is right after a page brake (20 posts in my settings). Right after the first new post on this page, appears an older one from the previous page IIRC, than I had this twice now, on different devices, (Macbook and iPad)

@JonB said in Hitchhiker's Visual Guide to the Qt Forum: @RokeJulianLockhart I am indeed a moderator, so that may make a difference. I do not know what "Ask as question" does! :) It turns a "normal post" to a question that can be marked as solved. This can be useful for example when an old imported topic still gets activity but was marked solved the old way.

@anik Thanks for reporting this. I will take this up internally and report back to you. Just a question: Have you responded to any of the emails from the screenshot to say that you didn't want to be contacted?

@Pl45m4 said in What platform is Qt Forum built on?: Wasn't really needed, but good to know. The best things in life are like that 😉

@SGaist, thanks! It's all done: [image: b40638f6-3af8-40cf-a854-c1138e083710.png] They manually modified the account database.

Hi and welcome to devnet, Just tried the web page and it seems to work. Just in case it persists for you, you can use the GitHub mirror.

We're preparing to move Jira from on-premise to the cloud, which may cause some disturbances this week. Everything should back online next week.

And the same thing is happening again - there has also been problems with the cache system that the Git Hub action jurplel/install-qt-action which uses aqtinstall has been using which was shutdown in the last couple of days (an alternative has been put in place) - see: https://github.com/jurplel/install-qt-action/issues/283#issuecomment-2807825345 . One thing that makes things awkward is that only the download.qt.io site has the SHA256 hashes so it is not possible to validate the mirrors copies (they only carry SHA1s) without contacting upstream and if that is playing up it messes everyone up..

I managed to log in using the authenticator extension on Firefox. The extension allows you to select the QR code with the mouse and give you the 6-digits code after that.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to add the post with a link to the terminal output, at the end of the post. See, https://forum.qt.io/topic/161554/qt-errors-on-rocky9-qt-and-vtk-installed-from-appstream-and-epel-repos. I infer it was putting that into the code section (in between the 3 dot dot dots after clikcing on the code icon) that caused the post to be rejected as spam.

The forum login is controlled via a qt.io account. I'm guessing that that is where the change needs to be made, rather than in the forum profile. Click the profile icon at the top of https://www.qt.io between the search magnifying glass and language selection globe. [image: 49fba8a4-72d0-4c38-8174-4c22a703e420.png] Select My Profile Change email Enter a new email address and confirm with the account password I haven't verified that this actually works.

They still send you this trash after you unsubscribe. Had to fully block qt in my mail client. They are very stupid for not using a mail provider for that spam. Now their URL is being flagged by all of us.

@Pedro said in Forum/NodeBB bot to welcome new users + security features (Anti spam etc): This is a great suggestion, and I have been thinking about something along these lines as well. I will bring this up at my next meeting already and see how feasible it is considering the team's overall tasks. Feel free to contact me in private about this. :) Great :) I saw this elsewhere and liked it, because the bot also included some kind of optional tutorial on how to use the forum and post correctly (how to create links and to use code tags properly) in addition to 2-3 mandatory actions which are needed to verify that you are not a bot yourself :D And I believe @SGaist already answered your other question. Regarding the spam/anti-bot prevention I thought more of the AKISMET false-positive message which currently prevents many users from posting code snippets. Feels like there must have been a change in the settings lately.
