    Hello QT developers and community,

I have just joined and starting installation with QT Online installer. I'm currently installing QT for more than 6 hours, this is because my internet connection isn't the best and I am not the brightest.

So what happened is when you start the installation it will firstly download software (for me it was 7 GB) and then it will proceed with installation, if you like me haven't run installator as administrator you will get error during installation and then when you reboot installator as administrator there is no option to continue the installation but it will just download everything again.

I know this is minor and only happens to new devs but it could be improved so that installator remembers that it already downloaded everything.

    Thanks!

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

Technically, starting the installer as your user or root is literally two different users. They do not share cache, etc.

However, I currently don't know whether the installer caches anything at all when interrupted and it could be an interesting feature that you can suggest on the bug tracker.

That said, unless you point the installer to a non user accessible folder, it should work just fine and install things in your home directory.
