Forum slow down when logged in

Hi,
Since some months I am experiencing a pretty high slow down when I am accessing the forum. It looks like some sort of cache warmup as it often happens after a small amount of time without activity.
This is only visible if I am logged in. I can have side by side an anonymous session where it's lighting fast and my own session that is slower. It's not a question of 1s VS 100ms response time. Usually when I come back after a pause, it's at least 30s. It also looks like there are several http2 429 errors (too many requests) during that time.
Even more, from time to time, trying to browse the forum triggered a crash on the heroku app that is behind the forum.
Would you have any idea at what might be happening ? The slowdown happens on all sorts of connections some of which have very high throughput.
