    Hello all!

Is there any estimation of real readiness of Qt 6.0 for using? Which version is going to be stable and with the same functionality like Qt 5.15, especially for mobile development? The key-word id "real" reediness, not by promo.

For now Qt 6.0 is almost impossible to be used for mobile devices. There are HUGE amount of troubles.

      Disclaimer

This is my personal opinion, not an objective truth.

I consider anything before 6.2 to be essentially in beta and nothing I would put in production untill at least 6.3 but it's early to say 6.3 will be enough

@VRonin All of it looking like Qt insisting on payed version ... I mean 5.15.3 and further ... Especially for mobile devices.

@bogong said in Qt 6 version readiness for using. When?:

All of it looking like Qt insisting on payed version

I think this statement is slightly unfair but, again, just my opinion.
See https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTQAINFRA-4121 if you want to go down that path

@VRonin I haven't seen this thread before. Theirs reasons understandable. The company, that I am working for now already payied Qt customer. I've been trying to make decisions for my own project. From begin I am not interested on moving out of Qt. For me it's only one option to cover iOS/Android by one pair of hands. Now preparing myself for being Qt customer by myself.

Beside all of it, the University were I am lecturing going to start using Qt like basis tech for educational process. Is there any info about license for Universities and students? Something like Adobe Restricted license if you are student or lecturer.
