So I am building a restomod and want to do my own digital dashboard with lcd screens etc. anyway I thought of using qt to develop the speedo and tach but I’m not sure if I can do that under the open source license. I will not be distributing or selling my interface, it is for my own personal car, it will be a one off. The device that will be running it will be a raspberry pi that won’t have internet connection so it will be standalone.

I am not a lawyer, and I stand to be corrected. But as far as I understand you can use open source Qt licence.

@JonB Thank you, and that’s what I figured but I also knew it wouldn’t hurt to get a second opinion lol.

Learn the licenses. They are about distribution. If you decide to share it with someone, you need to provide source if it using GPL libs. Possibly even if using LGPL libs.

C++ is a perfectly valid school of magic.

            Not if using shared libraries.
