Would it be a good idea to have a "thanks" button like in other forums, which adds to a users points? I like to use it to show my appreciation to other posters for helpful information.

    Cheers, Tom.

I agree with this, it will be nice to have "Thanks" button here.

I think the Devnet team is working on something similar. I doubt it will be a Thanks button so much as an upvote/rate up button.

Check out "the thread":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/249/ about it.

That's quite a different concept really, what I am trying to rally is a thanks button for individual forum posts, that users use to show their appreciation and/or agreement with a specific post in a thread. Not an overall resource or maybe even thread. It allows a user to get appreciation for insightful information they post that people "like" :) talk.maemo.org has this as does meego.com forum.

Yea, I understand and agree. My point was that such a button will be a part of the reputation system discussed in that other post, otherwise there would be no way for users to gain reputation points.

              This is correct. :)

Ah, okay. So there'll be something similar in conjunction with that system. Fair enough :D
