@dviktor I looked at your "minimal" repro. The queries are horrendously long and complex, and require many tables with many columns. If I were you and I wanted help/someone to look at it I would spend my time reducing to an absolute minimum, e.g. does it require a JOIN at all, does it show up with one JOIN, do I really need a calculated column, do I need MAX() or other "aggregate", does it matter whether a column is DATE versus DATETIME, does the WHERE clause matter, etc. I would hope to produce the absolute minimum code and database where I could say: "if you run this query it works fine but as soon as I make just this one little change it goes wrong". Up to you.

@jronald And to add to @JonB: You can set the environment variables for a Qt Creator Kit in Edit > Preferences > Kits > Kits. It will then be used for all new projects automatically. Regards

I can't test this ancient version but would guess you installed a static Qt version. Therefore all is linked directly into your executable which explains the size.

Alright I finally solved the issue. I added this to my CMakeLists.txt set(sources main.cpp) qt_add_resources(sources res.qrc) And ${sources} in the qt_add_executable list So now this is on top of my CMakeLists.txt set(sources main.cpp) qt_add_resources(sources res.qrc) qt_add_executable(4-WindowDifference WIN32 MACOSX_BUNDLE main.cpp mainwindow.cpp mainwindow.h res.qrc ${sources} )

I also need a persistent systray icon that appears every time BIT is performing a backup or restore. Anyway, I do plan to rewrite the whole inter process communication part of BIT so we can have a full persistent systray that appears not only when BIT is performing a job. @blossomsg There's no reason for that slot to be in the model. Depending on how you want to integrate that with Maya, create your own custom view on top of the model that will translate that information in whatever is needed for Maya. A "view" does not mandatory mean a tree or a table, it's really whatever uses the model as a source of information.

@JonB Unfortunately trying to seek or get the size doesn't work, as the open command fails. QFileInfo.size() returns 0 for one file, and -1 for another. It returns the correct size on the smaller JSON file. On Linux the correct size is returned for all of the files. Right now I am indeed doing the workaround of having the file outside of resources, but it's strange that it would be doing this and I'd like to figure out why :) @Christian-Ehrlicher I enabled binary transfer using a .gitattributes and ensured that the file was changed and committed, and pulled. Nothing changed. Both files have the same md5sum and are around 12 megabytes. I'm stuck. I'll try in the next day or two to see if I can make a MRE. Thanks for the suggestions!

Also not a lawyer here. Your obligation is to comply with LGPL. That means your app has to be linked dynamically to Qt (not static) you have to include a license note saying explicitly that you are using Qt under LGPL users must be able to replace the Qt version with another, without any restrictions (no hardware / software tricks to put a stick in the wheel).

I just saw that QVncServer is part of the commercial offering. I would recommend checking with the Qt Company as that module's code does not seem to be available.

I figured out the issue. Buffer upload must be done before beginPass() is called.... in render function, this line resourceUpdates->updateDynamicBuffer(m_vbuf.get(), 0, sizeof(vertexData), vertexData); needs to be before this line cb->beginPass(renderTarget(), clearColor, { 1.0f, 0 }, resourceUpdates);

After a lengthy tussle with QtConcurrent::run() (which is why the delay in responding), I managed to move the long running interpolation code off to another thread.
