    I am new here and want to start to contribute to the Qt project. I followed the step described in https://wiki.qt.io/Setting_up_Gerrit and got stuck in the 7th step of "Local Setup". I tried the command "ssh codereview.qt-project.org-gerrit gerrit stream-events" in both Windows PowerShell and Bash in Windows 10. however I received the error message: "ssh: Could not resolve hostname codereview.qt-project.org-gerrit: Name or service not known". How do I fix this? If I didn't provide enough information, please state in the comment and I'll add up.

    Hi @ylink,

    It seems there is a bug in the wiki, it should be

    ssh codereview.qt-project.org gerrit stream-events

    That said, I don't know what stream-events does. For testing, I always use

    ssh -p 29418 <username>@codereview.qt-project.org. I have to specify username and port because I did not setup the sshconfig file.

    Edit: Fixed the URL in the wiki

    Thanks for your answer. I have tried your approach and there is no error message related to resolving hostname. Unfortunately, program returned a new error message: Permission denied (publickey). How can I fix this problem?

    Hi @ylink,

    have you uploaded you SSH public key to Gerrit? (Step 4 and 5)

    Qt has to stay free or it will die.

    Hi @ylink,

    yes that looks good. And you use the user name that is in the Profile section as the SSH <username>?

    Can you run ssh -vvv -p 29418 <username>@codereview.qt-project.org and see where it complain?

    The problem is I run command "ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -C youremail@email.com -f ~/.ssh/yourgerritusername_id_rsa" as wiki described before and I only got 2 files, a private key and a public key. I don't know why the connection complains lack of other files?

    @aha_1980 Here's another error message after fixing the private key problem......The message is "packet_write_wait: Connection to 54.229,21,112 port 29418: Broken pipe"

    Is it correct that the SSH version changed between the two logs?!

    I currently have no idea for the broken pipe error - please google around a bit.

    Can you ssh to other servers?

    In the worst case, you can use Gerrit with HTTP also, the HTTP password is in your personal settings in Gerrit.

    Qt has to stay free or it will die.

    My steps:

ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -f /home/user8937666/QtProj/key/my_qt_ssh_key -N "" -C myKeyForQt <<< $'\ny' >/dev/null 2>&1
ssh -vvv -p 29418 user8937666@codereview.qt-project.org  -i /home/a/QtProj/key/my_qt_ssh_key

    Now works (thanks). But with default RSA (without -t ed25519 ) it doesn't work (error "no mutual signature algorithm"), why?
