The latest Qt Creator in the Qt SDK (2.3.1) automatically enables the booster if you select a Harmattan Target in the wizard. So the manual steps in the wiki page should only be used by people who have already a project created by an older version of Qt Creator!

I don't know of any reasons not to use the booster in general, but the way it is enabled in the template may have some side effects: https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTCREATORBUG-6490
