Hi I am fairly new to Qt programming I am working on a small app to read SEGY files used in seismic. I enclose a small piece of code (might be a little raw). In the code I am reading the EBCDIC header and then displaying just a few characters to see if it was done correctly however since I am reading ASCII I am using a conversion table to get the EBCDIC header characters. For example ñ->1 in EBCDIC. However I am getting the following warning "C:\Users\pedro_000\Documents\WaveMod\mainwindow.cpp:80: warning: comparison is always false due to limited range of data type [-Wtype-limits] if(xHD[2]==L'Ã±') { ^" The if is never true and therefore the values are never translated. I don't want to get rid of the warning but rather fix the code. :) However I don't have very clear how to do this. I appreciate your help in advance and sorry if there is something unclear in my question. For me it looks like comparison between signed and unsigned char, try casting to unsigned char.
