Drag slider without having to directly click the slider handle.

If one wants to change the slider value then he can either click somewhere within the slider, or grab the slider handle and drag it around.
What I want to achieve is a sort of a mixed behaviour where I can perform a handle drag by clicking and dragging anywhere in the slider and not just exactly above the handler.
Is there an option or flag that will allow me to do this?
