Neither the "Go > Sync with Table of Contents" menu selection or equivalent toolbar button has any perceivable effect.
From http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/assistant-details.html:
"To synchronize the Contents window with the page currently shown in the Documentation window, select Go > Sync with Table of Contents."
