Im sorry if i post in a wrong thread but i dont know what is the best place for this question.

    @Marianne Granum:
    I saw on this site that Nokia is talking with microsoft for their OS instead of using open source/Qt. :(
    I also notice that you are very busy with advertising for the ambassador program.
    Why are you still doing effort to advertise for this program?

    Edit (Andre):
This post is in the wrong thread. I have split off this thread from the discussion "More Qt Ambassador Kits on its way!":http://developer.qt.nokia.com/forums/viewthread/4283/ because it does not belong in there.
Qt isn't only for mobile platforms and Symbian, it is something "beyond":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/supported-platforms.html just mobile, speaking of mobile it is ported also on "Android ":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suPeZ7XC1xk

          Of course. Also Symbian will be supported for a fairly long time because Qt and Symbian cannot be abandoned, there are lots of major vendors who use Qt extensively and their business is based solely on Qt, think of Google Earth, Adobe, DreamWorks etc. also there are a lot of Symbian users out there, and this cannot be abandoned like that, because Nokia has to support its users and developers. At least in the end of the day there are lots of us who write apps for living, we should look on other platforms as well. In February 2010 I purchased my Nexus One and now I write both Android and Symbian apps side by side since :)

          This is completely out of topic, but one thing you should know that Qt will be here and will not go away ;)

                @Vinb: I see you have already gotten a lot of good answers from your fellow Qt Ambassadors, and to make it clear from our side as well: We are still committed to Qt and the Qt Ambassador Program.

                As my colleague Katherine wrote to this group on the 14th of February (you can see her post under “updates”):
Hi everyone. Indeed, a slightly tough day for us Qt-ies on Friday. BUT, please be assured that Qt will continue. We will keep working on Qt as there are many other programs supported not only on the mobile side, but for desktop and embedded in various industries. In addition, Nokia will ship new Symbian devices and continue to evolve & innovate on the platform, including enhancements to Qt on the Symbian platform. We will ship a device from our MeeGo program this year, which will run Qt apps. Qt is a thriving ecosystem made up of hundreds of thousands of talented developers. We will not give up the fight. There is where you come in, as Qt Ambassadors, to regroup and evangelize how you use the Qt framework and tools and keep the community alive.
I hope this answers your question!:-)
