(This doesn't really seem to be "development" per se, but none of the other forums seem to be a good match either)

I recently configured my Qt Gerrit account with 2FA -- or rather, I couldn't log in until I had added 2FA because Gerrit said so. FreeOTP didn't support the QR code, so I used a different authenticator. I realise now that I used the wrong one (an authenticator that will go away with current $JOB). How can I connect a different 2FA? The Gerrit documentation elsewhere seems to suggest there's an "Identities > Link new" button, but my Gerrit profile settings don't have that.

Gerrit accounts are shared with this forum, and other qt.io services.

I had a similar issue when switching authenticators. It might also be a good idea to save backup recovery codes before replacing the current 2FA method, especially if the old authenticator will stop working soon. Losing access to both could make account recovery much harder.

Thank you, that is what I was looking for. I can add a new 2FA before getting rid of the old one.
