Popup with popupType Qt.PopupWindow disappearing when losing focus on application

I have a common component I have created that is a Popup with the popupType property set to Qt.PopupWindow. With this setting enabled if I am to click outside of the Application the Popup disappears and doesn't reappear when I come back to the application. The Popup isn't closed but hidden somewhere in the Application stack. Does anyone know how to make it so that the popup will always stay on top of the stack?
