Min font size

Hi, I am not sure this is the right forum for this question, but there it goes anyway.

I am looking for recent studies, papers, ISO standards on how to setup minimum font sizes for text in home appliance interfaces (TFT sceens).

The interfaces we build do not allow for text re-sizing, so we want to provide a legible experience out of the box. Obviously we will test these designs on target devices, but we are looking for a solid formula to calculate the ideal min font size in pixel, keeping in consideration screen resolution, pixel density and user distance from the screen.
