    For several months now, the forum notification menu hasn't been working for me. I've tried signing out/in but that hasn't helped.

    I get a notification alert but when I click on Bell icon, the drop down just shows "Loading Notifications". I have to click "See all notifications" to go to a different page and then see the list of notifications.

      It does take a moment to load for me sometimes, but it does eventually after a couple seconds. Maybe it depends on your location and something times out.
      Have you tried another browser or disabling any extensions you might have, e.g. adblock or the likes (or just run in incognito/private mode for a test)?

        Ah! Disabling adblock fixed it. Thanks!

          @Taytoo
          I installed AdBlock a while ago, having been advised to do so. Just seems irritating to me? I'm not sure I see any less ads, but I do see plenty of sites which detect I am using it and either complain or block me. So why am I bothering?!

            @JonB I can't even use internet without an ad blocker anymore. Most news websites are something like 90% ads, popups, auto play videos etc. It's just sea of garbage. Adblocks are a must for me. But unfortunately it's all going away soon, since Google pretty much destroys most adblockers with its new API changes, which come to life I think somewhere around next month. Oh well, I guess I will have to finally migrate to some other browser.

              @Chris-Kawa
              I don't visit news websites! I do notice though how many normal, harmless, informational sites I might go to --- like just for programming --- detect/block me.

                @JonB News sites are just an example, but it's everywhere. I visited my parents on holiday and they wanted to play me a video on youtube. I've forgotten that you have to watch an ad for half a minute before you can watch anything and then it interrupts you couple of times in the middle too. Hell no! Whenever I enter internet without a blocker my eyes/ears bleed.
                If a site blocks me because I block ads I just close it. There's more than enough alternatives.
