You should consider using a library like exiv2 that supports that image format.
@ElPadre no i dont couldnt find an example, but i think you can follow the mediaendpointconnector test implementation: https://github.com/KDE/bluez-qt/edit/master/tests/mediaendpointconnector.cpp
Then maybe something like the json based plugin metadata used by Qt and Qt Creator.
Why do you have your plugins and application all in the same project ?

Since your on Linux, why not install the taglib devel package from your distribution ?
