I think you are supposed to go into ODBC Data Source Administrator (32-bit? 64-bit? I think it's important you configure whatever the right one is being used by your Qt program) and have a look through the tabs to see what is configured/available to you.

but don't hear much back that s/he has tried.

There was no solution, I had to sweat with the 32x version, which is installed if the Office is same bitness.

If you want to use remote database systems like PostgreSQL or MySQL, you'll have to do some work first because neither of these provide native Android build of their package.

As @jsulm already noted, it's usually a bad idea to design an application which access a database directly through an open network so take care to secure the connections appropriately using encryption.

basically Oracle supports requests via ODBC driver. So this is more a matter of your DB configuration.

You can't mix architectures. While there should be no problem connecting to a 64bit running server with a 32bit client. Loading the 64bit libraries with a 32bit plugin will not work.
