[Python issue] Qt Creator replaces tabs with spaces when saving.

This is one of those bugs that make you wonder "WHY ON EARTH DOES THIS EVEN EXIST???".

Also, I simply can't create an issue on the bug tracker, even when logged into an account. The "Create Issue" button does nothing.

That's not a bug, just a feature.

In the "Tabs And Indentation" you can choose whether to indent with tabs or whitespaces.
The "Clean Indentation" switch toggles whether to clean the indentation upon saving.

Regarding bug reporting: Please see this link. There is unfortunately a known issue in Jira that allows you to create bugs only after the 2nd login.
