In QML, why is there no simple property like clipChildren that's based on the actual contents of the object instead of it's bounding box?

I understand that there's an outdated OpacityMask effect.
I keep trying to get into QML with Qt Design Studio from widgets, but I just keep getting frustrated with these types of bottlenecks, like some stuff is very intuitive, and other basic stuff is hell to deal with, so I just keep bouncing back to using widgets.
