Rotary encoder with acceleration support

Hello,

I want to add rotary encoder input support to my Qt application. Does Qt support rotary encoder as an input especially with support for acceleration (I.e variable increment/decrement step according to rotation speed).
I know that I can map roratyy encoder to mouse/keyboard but this dpes not solve the rotary encoder acceleration problem.

How is that encoder seen by your system ? Does it generate data somewhere ?
