      Smar, ah, you meant -1 to this post, not as example of generic comment to generic post.
      It is not useful because it generates a lot of meaningless comments that you should go through when you open DevNet.

        Ok, I'll try to explain better OP's issue: if you have a suggestion or a bugreport, use:

        • The forum to discuss it ("Wouldn't it be nice if...");
        • JIRA to report it to the Trolls™;
        • JIRA to vote for it. That is, once the issue is officially opened, saying "+1" on the forum is pointless.

        I know that I'm asking for a huge thing, but someone has to say it... it could be possible to merge JIRA and DevNet accounts, then somehow link JIRA reports to forum threads and vote for/against an issue right from the forums? :-)

            And then we are very close to the so "famous" "like" button... From this +/-1 issue (which is a good way to get points without writing any meaningful) I have a feeling that this feature seems to be something people requires in online societies.

              Nah, there will be no "Like" button coming. But I think a way of indicating that a member's reply/suggestion/whatever was helpful, does make sense.

              And guess what, it's pretty high up on our list. :)

                And how about giving karma to other users?

                  I think rate button is enough, if a suggestion is good I think people should use rating button on the right side...

                    I like the idea of the "thanks" for posts and I think it is probably more important to improve your karma than just the raw number of posts.

                    I would even like to see some filter (whenever, if ever, we get this feature) so we can see only the posts in a thread that were "useful"... It should help to get rid of some of the noise...

                        That's literally bringing the "TROLL" flash to a new level.

                                We might require something like (+1) until the rating system is perfect. I feel it a sort of ack to the poster indicating that we support his\her views.
