i run example B4a with 1 millinion projects, when using qt driver,
231500 events done, the projection is killed in windows platform with 8G RAM,
116900 events done, the projection is killed in ubuntu platform with 4G RAM,
when using Opengl driver, everythings work ok,

so what is the ploblem with qt?
why so many RAM memory cost?

@NewConcept1987 said in Too many ram memory are cost when running Geant4 B4a example.?:

      B4a

      What example is this?
Also, Qt is not a driver.

A program named Geant4 is released by cern, it can be visualized using Qt graphics library.

@NewConcept1987 When I don't know how anybody here should know why it consume a lot of RAM. You will need to analyze this by yourself or ask the authors of the application. On Linux/UNIX you can use Valgrind to analyze memory usage.

            Cross-post: https://geant4-forum.web.cern.ch/t/too-many-ram-memory-are-cost-when-running-g4-b4a-example/4710

I agree with @jsulm: We don't know how the Geant4 code is implemented, so we can't tell you what is consuming your RAM.
