    @Kent-Dorfman heh...as bad as that is, I found it easier than trying to build an agent (or even a part of an agent). And (drumroll please)...to my mind, both are easier than figuring out how to write MIBs!

    SNMP is for machines, by machines. Humans need not apply.

    @mzimmers I'm pretty sure a total denial of that motto is a hard requirement to be in any company business unit: manager, executive, operations director, marketer, etc.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N9

    Prices in January 2012 were, depending on the size of the internal memory, between €500 and €630.

    Not €2,000, but still a couple of beers if you can sell it on ebay.... That is, unless you're still using it as your phone ;-)

    Here are some places:

    http://www.qpm.io/ https://inqlude.org/ https://www.devmachines.com/forum/qtitanribbon.html KDE - https://store.kde.org/ not a good link, but in general KDE has a ton of stuff github :-) implement your own QWidget subclasses

    @sierdzio said in I'm sticking with Widgets:

    Then there is also stronger separation of logic and UI code (in widgets it's much easier to mix these two).

    Don't think so, it totally depends on the skills of the developers.

    @sierdzio said in I'm sticking with Widgets:

    Also, with QML, designers can create the UI while programmers focus on logic (I have not tried that approach, though).

    My experiences told me the opposite way, many users don't care about qml nor the qml designers, they found widget designer easier to use and more intuitive to customize the look and feel by css. Advertisement of Qt company are not that...solid.

    Agree with you it is a better choice on mobile, or create ui suit for desktop + mobile, otherwise I don't find much benefits of qml.

    I use python for machine learning, html and js for website, qml + js + c++ and platform specific language for mobiles, c++ for desktop apps with gui(no qml, no).

    @macfanpl
    I thought it could do with being stickied because this sort of question get asks frequently (understandably, and it's tricky), and I thought @JKSH provided some good references and was well laid out. WE could do with an avilable post like this.

    I thought it probably won't be stickied because any combination of:

    Nobody will see my comment. Nobody will choose to act on it, or will not think it worthy of inclusion in the few stickies this forum has. The post aids people (legitimately) in not needing to purchase a license while keeping their code private, which I think is one of the selling points of The Qt Company. I don't really understand the relationship between this forum, the individuals who post here and The Qt Company, but it might not be welcome to advertise this under their auspices, I don't know.

    :)

    @JKSH

    2^100 32-bit integers requires 5 x 10^18 TB

    Yes, my point was I didn't think that poster's analysis could relate to a real, current situation. Nonetheless, I suppose his mathematical analysis about the behaviour would still hold.

    You've also shed some light on something I didn't understand. You're saying 2^100 is somewhere near 10^18 (I know that you're talking about different base units, so I ought to divide by a bit, but still...) Now, I thought my guess of 2^100 sounded a bit low for the supposed number of atoms in the Universe. I have a feeling that figure is something like 10^76 or some such. So 10^n is a lot bigger than 2^n, right? I thought in X^y that the magnitude of y was much more significant than the magnitude of X? I know I could work it out, but how do you figure what m is in 10^m == 2^n?

    [Please don't tell me it's m == n/5, that would be too obvious...? Hang on: since 10 == 2^3.something, that means m == n/3.something, so I divide/multiply the exponent by the 3.something to convert between 10^m == 2^n, is that it?! 10^100 == 2^(300+something), 2^100 =~ 10^30-ish?]

    It could be a gold digger putting out feelers, as @JonB implied.

    Hang on, my reply was intended purely frivolously! I have no reason to imply that the person in question wasn't genuinely interested in the OP. Besides, gold-digging into programmer-geeks is probably not lucrative as we are underpaid & undervalues (speaking for myself) :)

    Whatever the case, it sounds like you handled the situation well!

    I'd have asked for her phone number ;-)

    In the modern world perhaps we are not allowed to jest about these things, so we'd better stick to the question about exponents above....

    I hate it.
    I mean OMG I HATE IT!!!!
    Its so hard to use the bloody thing. Its as if it was intentionally made to be the most hardest "fuc%&ng" thing to use.

    Man, I must have found my lost twin...that rant is worthy of something I'd write.

    But seriously, GL is not something that the typical hacker can expect to read a book on and start writing effectively. It is generally very low level and follows the hardware pipeline closely. Stick to the higher level abstractions unless you intend to become a GL expert. As a hiring lead I would overlook resumes of generic programmers who say "yeah, I can program opengl". I want to see several years of specific GL experience, showing that they understand the nuiances and change history.

    @Kent-Dorfman I never had any issues with SSDs. And one of the reasons why developers should use VCS is to have back-ups - a failing SSD is then a non issue...
