<![CDATA[QMessageBox crash on macOS 27.0.1]]>Hello,

Since upgrade to macOS 27.0.1 this simple code is crashing with PyQt6 when trying to display the QMessageBox:

import sys
from PyQt6.QtWidgets import (
    QApplication,
    QWidget,
    QPushButton,
    QMessageBox,
    QVBoxLayout,
)

app = QApplication(sys.argv)

window = QWidget()
window .setWindowTitle("Sample")

button = QPushButton("Display")

def display_dialog():
    QMessageBox.question(
        window,
        "Confirmation",
        "Continue ?",
        QMessageBox.StandardButton.Ok | QMessageBox.StandardButton.Cancel,
        QMessageBox.StandardButton.Cancel,
    )

button .clicked.connect(display_dialog)

layout = QVBoxLayout()
layout.addWidget(button)
window.setLayout(layout)

window .show()
sys.exit(app.exec())

As workaround this works:

        QMessageBox.StandardButton.Ok
        | QMessageBox.StandardButton.Cancel
    )
    dialog.exec()

button.clicked.connect(display_dialog)

layout = QVBoxLayout(window)
layout.addWidget(button)

window.show()
sys.exit(app.exec())

So it looks like usage of native dialog box is broken with macOS 27.0.1.
Is this a known issue? If not, can anybody reports this to Qt developers?

Here are the versions used:

PyQt6                6.11.0
PyQt6-Qt6            6.11.2
PyQt6_sip            13.11.0
Python               3.12.12

The crash is not due to a Python exception, this is in native code.
As of today the user has not been able to provide a stack trace...

But another user, still of macOS 27.0.1 and also using PyQt6 6.11.0 reports this stack when displaying a dialog (not sure this is a QMessageBox).

@Qoissi Please provide more detail - which version of Qt and which version of PyQt? Is the crash due to a Python exception or in native code? Can you provide a stack trace?
